Welcome to Katoomba Native Plant Nursery

Open for sales at the nursery on Fridays and Saturdays 10am-1pm

We will also hold a Street Stall outside the Friendly Grocer in Blackheath on the 1st Friday of the month in May and June.

The Blue Mountains Wildplant Rescue Service (BMWRS) - the first of its kind in Australia - was formed in 1994 to help protect and promote the natural values of the Blue Mountains.

Initially involved in simply rescuing and rehoming wild native plants, BMWRS opened its own propagating nursery in 1998 in order to supply larger numbers of truly local plants for bushcare groups, landscapers and the local Council.

About Us

Wildplant Rescue volunteers acknowledge that we work on the lands of the Dharug and Gundungurra peoples. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and future.

Create Your Own Blue Mountains Native Bush Garden

If you live in the Blue Mountains and would like to have your own beautiful waterwise native bush garden, or are wanting to restore native bushland in your area, then Katoomba Native Plant Nursery is the place to visit!

All the plants for sale are of local provenance and are therefore ideally adapted to their environment.

You can purchase native plants propagated by us from seed collected locally or, you can sometimes buy pots of ‘rescued’ plants which we have saved from blocks of land that are being cleared for development.

We are here to assist a range of individuals and organisations including: Home gardeners / Council/other local authorities / Landscape contractors / Bush regeneration groups / Members / Volunteers.

About Us

Our Range of Local Native Species

Select your plants from our diverse range of true local native species, many of which are not available from commercial growers.

Read what our customers say about our range and service.

‘If we can inspire even a small percentage of gardeners to “think wildplants”, we will be going a long way towards protecting and promoting local biodiversity. For me this makes tangible that well-known adage “Think globally. Act locally”. Instead of robbing from the future we will be investing in it.’
Mikla Lewis  - founder of Blue Mountains Wildplant Rescue Service Inc.

Visit Our Bushland Nursery

We invite you to visit our nursery located in bushland at the Clairvaux Community Centre, 14 Oak St, Katoomba NSW. We are open for sales every Friday and Saturday between 10am and 1pm.

Our team of volunteers is always ready to welcome you and to offer advice about the most suitable plants for your garden and how to care for them.

We aim to inspire you to grow your own native garden or to restore degraded bush, or simply learn about our local flora and really appreciate it.

Pay us a visit, buy some plants and beautify your garden and the local environment. Find us here.

Join Our friendly Volunteers

Without the contribution of volunteers, Wildplant Rescue Service could not function or even exist.

Our volunteers come from a range of ages and backgrounds and they are the heart of the organisation, proving that people who care can make a difference.

In a time when it is easy to despair at the amount of work that needs to be done to repair and safeguard our earth’s ecosystems, volunteers bring great hope and practical skills.

Love this place. One of the few places you can get true local natives, and the people are always lovely and helpful. I owe my whole front garden to them.

A reliable source of local indigenous plants grown, rescued, and nurtured by a dedicated band of volunteers. Thank you for all you are doing.

The best place for hardy LOCAL native plants! Grown by volunteers for gardens or bush regen.

V Harris

While its mostly stuff grown by the volunteers (all very useful) it also has a very interesting but limited range of salvaged plants.

D Sanderson

Plants grown and sold here are all indigenous to the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park and consequently help to preserve its unique biodiversity.

V Paul

THE MOST WONDERFUL place to learn about the amazing botany of the NSW Blue Mountains region and obtain local tube stock grown onsite.... I couldn’t have done without the staff’s knowledge during the regeneration of my bushland garden.

Margie

They are great value for money and the staff are always really helpful and ready to answer questions.

Miss D’Meanour

I would visit this nursery every week if I could. Such a wonderful range of native species endemic to the Blue Mountains. The staff are always helpful and very knowledgeable.
