This flowering shrub or small tree in the myrtle family can grow from 2 to 4 metres high. It has distinctive long drooping or weeping smaller branches, covered in tiny grey-green leaves and generally grows on deep, sandy soils, in full sun to part shade.. It is an attractive plant, suitable as a screening shrub or low wind-break, and it can be pruned into a small tree shape by removing lower branches and encouraging a single main trunk. Valuable for its mass flowering in summer which attracts a range of bees and other insects.
