This climbing epiphytic or lithophytic fern bears widely separated fronds, erect to pendant. It has a long creeping fleshy grey-green rhizome (rooting stem).It is common on tree ferns but also branches and trunks of trees, on rocks and logs and occasionally along the ground in wet forests and rainforests. Grows in semi shade to full shade, in moist shady sites
