Most commonly found in the Upper Blue Mountains, Leptospermum obovatum is a densely flowering tea tree. It has many small rounded leaves (obovate), and flowers profusely during November to December. Happy in full shade to full sun. However, the more sun , the more flowers!
It grows in most types of soil and whilst preferring damp soil will grow well in dryer conditions. Growing up to 3 metres in height and 1 to 11/2 metres in width, it can be used as a hedge or screen and is very responsive to pruning to a desired shape. This is a very useful, pretty and tolerant plant for the garden.
