Grows from 2-10m high, in moist to wet soil in gullies and sheltered slopes of mountain forests. Tolerates light frost and snow. Full sun to dappled shade. It is a good screen plant for moist areas, especially if pruned to maintain bushy shape. The single, large white summer flowers are well displayed.
