Allocasuarina littoralis, the Black She-oak, is an evergreen shrub or tree with a dense crown and slightly pendulous thin branchlets, growing from 5 - 15 metres tall. It is a nitrogen fixing tree which does best in well drained soils with adequate moisture while getting established. The seeds of this species have been found to be a food source for the Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoo. Growing these plants in small stands between open space will help support this endangered native bird.
